Let's be honest. I didn't walk away from a well-paying job at W.B. Mason to work for just anyone, or to do just anything. Ideally, I'm looking for a few good clients. They could be in the public or private sector, be looking to launch the next great product idea or to save the world from hunger. The one common denominator would be their thirst for creative solutions and original thinking. And their willingness to listen to someone with unusual and innovative ideas.
I prefer to collaborate rather than just write ads. I work best when I'm given a problem to solve, and working as part of a team to solve it. I can't understate the importance of laughter, positive feedback and constructive criticism.
Or chocolate, come to think of it.
